Why Metalflake?

“Metalflake” is the cool vinyl glitter material that covered the banana seat on the Schwinn Sting-Ray bicycle you probably owned as a kid. Metalflake is also a paint that has tiny flakes of metal suspended in it. Metalflake paint was sprayed onto thousands of custom cars in the 1960s and 70s. I dig metalflake.

“American Graffiti”: The Ultimate Influence

George Lucas's movie, American Graffiti, was a huge influence on my life. When it was released in 1973, I was 12-years old. After seeing the movie's trailer on the TV, I drove my family nuts until somebody took me to see it. That somebody turned out to be my brother, Tom, who is eleven years older than me. I remember him liking it, but for me, it was a life-changing event.
